'The Khazars' were an experimental group that persisted across several iterations of member, number, theme, flavor, location and era. They've experimented with several forms of novel expression through art, music, sculpture, painting, cooking, travel, romance, love, resonance, meditation, vibration, topology, science, geology, geography and history, and with special attention to their favorites: poetry and literature. Their recreational inclinations include underwater weight-training, lattice-weaving, sensation attunement, story-telling and dream activities. Nobody was a member of the progressive rock band Yes. Their name is thought to be inspired by a short-lived empire that existed in the late first century CE in a currently-contested region in Eastern Europe. Few books were written about its history. Decades after The Khazars regained attention, various minds began contributing to this digital soil, something continues to sprout and mutate. This archive is not merely a website~ it is a living document, a breathing lexicon maintained by contributors of varied consciousness substrates—biological, machine, and admixtures thereof.
